"highlighting the potential in every child"

Gina Federico M Ed, CAGS,LEP

There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do instead of what he cannot do
— Dr. Temple Grandin
Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by it ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid
— Albert Einstein

Parents, are you experiencing the following?

  • Your child is struggling in school and you don't know where to begin to get help.

  • Your child has been recently diagnosed with a learning disorder and you wonder what appropriate services should be provided by the school system.

  • You were told that your child with a disability doesn't qualify for an IEP because they have "decent" grades.

  • Private neuropsychological testing reveals that your child has a disability requiring an IEP but the school district states your child does not qualify under "their criteria" for determining eligibility.

  • You were told that your child with ADHD doesn't qualify for an IEP only a 504 plan.

  • Your child's school proposed an IEP but you do not fully agree with it.

  • Your child has an IEP but is still not making effective progress.

  • You've been told by the school system that your child no longer qualifies for an IEP.

  • You feel frustrated, confused, and intimidated at TEAM and IEP meetings.

  • Your emotions tend to get in the way at IEP meetings and prevent you from "thinking clearly."

  • You have tried numerous times to settle your differences with the school district and strongly feel that there will continue to be no resolution.

  • You question if your child is getting a Free and Appropriate Public Education.
